It's that time of year again where we kick our fundraisers into high gear! American Legion Albert E. Schwab Post 555's Thanksgiving project is:
Thanksgiving for Veterans and Families
This is a program under the Transition Program at the Long Beach VA. The purpose of the Transition Program is to help those returning from deployment to integrate back into civilian life. Our goal is to provide $50 grocery store gift cards for dinners for 22 families this year.
Your tax deductible donation is very much appreciated by all of us at the Post 555 Family.
Thank you for your support <3

Our INAUGURAL Working Wardrobes' VetNet 5K Walk and Fun Run will raise the funds needed to put our clients in the training and certification programs they need so that they can say, "I GOT THE JOB!"
Working Wardrobes' VetNet is a safety net for veterans. Through our Career Success Institute, we provide our clients with an array of occupational and soft skills training, resume development, interview skills workshops, industry-specific certifications, and our signature professional wardrobing service.
Since the inception of VetNet in 2012, we have served over 1,500 veterans from various backgrounds and life experiences. Many of our veterans have recently discharged or retired from the military, while others have been out for several years. In all cases, they have found the transition from military to the civilian world challenging.
- Walk or run in boots- Combat boots, cowboy boots, you name it!
- Enjoy a diverse Vendor Expo
- Shoe Drive: bring shoes to help our clients get back on their feet!
Please note: Our Walk is pet-free and stroller free. Families are welcome, but for smaller members, please be sure to bring your baby carrier!
The Post is currently collecting items to bring to the patients in the hospital at the VA. We are seeking *new* white socks, shirts, travel sized sundries such as shaving cream, toothpaste, shampoos, etc., pads of paper, and pens. If you have items to share, please drop them off at The post. We would like to make a trip to the VA at the end of February. Thank you
The Post 555 Family thanks the folks at Antis Roofing for repairing our Post Main Hall's roof leak. Thank you for donating time and materials and helping to make our Post a better place.
The Post 555 Family thanks Jim Eubanks and his team of professionals for replacing our ceiling in the Main Hall. This was a major project that needed to happen. Nice work guys!

We are looking forward to many events this year - check our calendar page to stay up to date!
Post 555 thanks the Post Family and Friends for all the support this holiday season. We were able to adopt two families for the VA Long Beach Operation Santa Claus Project. In addition we also provided ten $25 grocery gift cards for the SATC Womens Health Program, also at the Long Beach the VA. We also brought a truck load of toys over to the Orangewood Home for Children, who at the time had no toys yet for the Christmas holiday. Our Post Family also filled two giant boxes for Toys 4 Tots!
Have a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
